Although we all know that in Europe we still have a long way to go to become a respectful and equal society, there are several cities that welcome the LGBT community with open arms. That is why here at Rainbow Translations we decided to write a series of posts about the cities that, in our opinion, are the most exciting and full of life, and where you can have a great time.

- Sitges, Spain: If you don’t want to go far, Sitges could be a good choice. This village on the Catalonian Costa Brava is, along with the Madrid neighbourhood of Chueca, one of the hotspots of the Spanish gay scene. Magnificent beaches and the most fun gay clubs in Europe are the best entertainment in the fishing village where artists like Picasso used to take refuge.
- Mykonos, Greece: If you like partying and having fun, Mykonos is the place for you. The Greek island has a more varied atmosphere than Sitges, although there are more and more bars with a good atmosphere and exclusive areas for the LGBT community. If after all of the partying you want to enjoy a swim in crystal clear waters and lie on clayey sands, you should visit Paradise Beach, Super Paradise Beach or Elia Beach.
- Copenhagen, Denmark: A country like Denmark, which was the first in the world to recognise the union of same-sex couples, could not be left off of this list. Its capital, Copenhagen, is a city full of culture and nightlife in which you can breathe the cosmopolitan and tolerant atmosphere of its people. In addition, there is an excellent variety of gay-friendly events among which are the Copenhagen LGBT Film Festival and the World Outgames sporting competition.
